Northamptonshire's Shambala Festival takes place amongst ornamental lakes, mature woodland and landscaped gardens, but only ticket-holders get to know the exact location! Aside from brilliant bands and chill-out zones, expect the unexpected - circus acts, WWF-style ping pong tournaments and roller discos.

In a world of "boutique festivals", Shambala quietly cultivates its down-to-earth (and green) mix of creativity, quality entertainment and a good helping of the unexpected. As usual you won't find out who's playing until you arrive, but anticipate an eclectic mix of experimental live music, from broken beats to folk, electro and even klezmer. Previous visitors at this August Bank Holiday weekend bash have ranged from The Bees, The Egg and Ska Cubano to DJ Die and Cassette Boy.

Don't forget your most bizarre fancy dress costumes - they're more important than wellies at Shambala!
