Warwick Castle more than lives up to its billing as Britain's Greatest Medieval Experience. Bursting to the towers with tales of treachery, torture, passion and power, the castle is brought to life by costumed guides and colourful characters telling spellbinding stories.
Warwick's defences date back to the days of Alfred the Great, and the long line of Warwick Earls who have fought beside the kings of England through many centuries of battle. Nowadays the castle has sumptuous state apartments, extensive gardens, a moat, imposing medieval battlements and a range of exciting and informative themed attractions.
In The Castle Dungeon gore seekers are greeted by decaying bodies, torture implements and 'the labyrinth of lost souls' - a scary mirror maze. Others may prefer The Princess Tower, the perfect place for little princesses.
The castle also has 60 stunning acres of grounds, much of which were landscaped by Capability Brown, and formal gardens including the Victorian Rose Garden and the Peacock Garden. Throughout the summer time your visit for the daily displays of jousting, archery, falconry and combat.
