York Festival of Food and Drink

Providing a great opportunity to broaden your culinary knowledge and expand your waistline, the York Festival of Food and Drink - first held in 1997 - returns for ten individually themed days, with events at venues all over the city.

The Festival Food Theatre in St Sampson's Square hosts the city's most talented chefs, and some famous names show off their skills. Many of York's restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés take an active role in the festival too - offering Festival Meal Deals, tasting events and other fringe events.

Other highlights include The Maltings' infamous Ale Trail, wine tastings and the festival markets, filled with a unique selection of gourmet delights. Events run throughout the day and during the evening.
