First held in 1977, York Early Music Festival can claim to be Britain's foremost festival of early music. It commandeers a variety of medieval churches, historic houses and Guildhalls in and around this Roman city for its huge range of performances.
This year's theme is 'Lifelines: an exploration of the universal themes of life and death.'
