FESTIVAL & THE ARTS

Edinburgh is a haven for arts, music and film lovers. The City Art Centre located on Market Street has a permanent exhibition of over 3000 paintings and sculptures, predominantly by Scottish artists. The centre also plays host to lectures and film demonstrations.

The Edinburgh Festival (of Music and Drama) is a celebration of all things theatrical. During the annual three week season in August, actors, singers, musicians, writers and artists flock to the city to perform in front of the audiences. The Edinburgh Tattoo is also a part of the festival season, where the military parade with pipe bands in the castle grounds. The floodlit evening presentations include spectacular military demonstrations and breathtaking firework displays.

SCOTLAND THE BRAVE

Full of historical tales and stunning scenery, Scotland is a favourite destination for many visitors seeking a short break with a warm welcome.

Not far from Edinburgh are miles of beautiful coastline, and a wealth of golf courses such as Muirfield and Dalmahoy.  To the east of the city you'll find Gullane Bay, and to the west you'll discover the birthplace of the monarchs at Linlithgow Palace. Dundee, St Andrews and Perth are all a short distance over the Forth Road Bridge and definitely worth a visit. South west of Edinburgh are the Pentland Hills which are famous for attracting walkers and hikers from all corners of the globe.
