The oldest building in the city, Glasgow Cathedral in the East End is a perfect example of beautifully restored pre-Reformation Gothic architecture. See the modern stained-glass windows and the tomb of St Mungo.
In fact, the cathedral is better known as St Mungo's. The only medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland to emerge from the Reformation unscathed, it is built in a classically Gothic style. It still serves as an active place of worship in the Church of Scotland and Historic Scotland provides a guide to its architecture and history.
