May 2009 (annual)
Hours: Various
Winchester's annual Mayfest brings traditional music, dance and arts to the town's streets, pubs and concert venues. The live music includes folk, roots, blues and jazz. Other activities include dance displays, workshops, children's events, charity stalls and ceilidhs.
There's a big party on Saturday, when a five-piece ceilidh band and caller Dave Hunt will get you stomping your feet and twirling around.
Most events are free and take place in the Guildhall, St Lawrence's Church, the High Street, the Square, on Cathedral Green and in some of Winchester's favourite watering-holes.
Please visit the festival website for the latest details of this year's programme.
