Middle Brook Street Farmers' Market

On every second and last Sunday of the month, Winchester's Middle Brook Street is transformed into one of the largest farmers' markets in the country, selling everything from ostrich meat and home-baked bread to crabs fresh from the Solent.

More than 90 local producers attend the market each fortnight, showcasing the diverse range and quality of food available from Hampshire. Look out for celebrity chef Rick Stein among the lobster and shrimp, as the seafood sorcerer is a regular market attendee.

Aside from the farmers' market, Middle Brook Street also plays host to a bustling city market from Wednesday to Saturday, selling everything from fruit and flowers to second-hand books.
