The aroma of mulled wine drifts across Bath's historic heart every Christmas thanks to the traditional festive Bath Christmas Market, held in the open-air square between the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey.

Carol singers, strolling players and entertainers add to the atmosphere and as you shop you can snack on mince pies and roasted chestnuts. Each year more than 100 wooden chalet stalls sell a variety of quality Christmas items, from enticing food and drink to decorations, toys and hand-crafted goods.

The market also showcases the Bath Campaign for Real Shops, which celebrates the diversity of local independent retailers. Take home hand-blown glass from Aqua Glass, Abbey ales and Somerset ciders, along with venison and game.
