Jane Austen based many of her novels on the picture-postcard villages close to Basingstoke, and Agatha Christie is so well-known in Torquay, they created a tour of the town for her. South of the Watford Gap, there’s plenty of beauty and sincerity, full of adventure and enthrallment and it’s usually basked in brilliant British sunshine!
