MAS Carnival

Aug 2010 (annual)

Cost: Free

Hours: 12pm

Cardiff Bay waterfront is brought to life during the Caribbean-inspired MAS Carnival. This is a celebration of cultural diversity featuring flamboyant costumes, giant puppets, headpieces and masks, all moving to samba beats, steel drums and Punjabi and African street drumming.

The parade leaves Canal Path Park in Butetown, before heading up Bute Street, St Mary Street and Castle Street to the City Hall.

The event is part of the Cardiff Festival, presented in association with South Wales Intercultural Community Arts (SWICA).
