St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff is the country's most popular open-air heritage attraction. It brings to life 500 years of Welsh experience in the 100-acre grounds of the 16th-century St Fagans Castle.
The museum features over 30 traditional buildings including a school, a Workmens' Institute and several craft shops. Indoor galleries contain collections of Welsh costumes, farming implements and exhibitions devoted to particular areas and periods.
Native breeds of livestock roam the paddocks and farmyards and there are regular performances of Welsh folk dancing, song and sports.
