Every winter the lawn in front of Cardiff City Hall is transformed into a magical Winter Wonderland skating rink. A heated terrace overlooks the ice and a free entertainment programme celebrates the festive season.

Attractions include live music and radio broadcasts, ice sculpture demonstrations, street theatre and appearances on the ice by much-loved characters like the giant snowman, the runaway Christmas tree and Santa with his sleigh and reindeer.

Calennig, or New Year, celebrations include fireworks and a fairground.
