Sleep Times
Children and babies sleeping at Teddies are provided with a cot or rest mat. Staff record and monitor sleeping children every ten minutes. There are designated sleep areas in both rooms where the children sleep during the day and we are vigilant regarding cot safety and hygiene.
Meal Times
We endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements your child may have. Children eating from the menu will be provided with a fresh and nutritious two-course lunch (a vegetarian menu is also available). All food is prepared on site in the Hotel's main kitchen. Meal times are an important part of your child’s day, this is an opportunity for them to socialise and communicate with friends. Staff also eat with the children in order to encourage appropriate behaviour.
Fun Times
All resources and activities in the main room are stored at child level. This allows the children to self select their activities, which in turn allows staff to have a clearer view of their individual interests.
The main room is divided into the following areas:
· Art area / messy area - includes a mark making board, playdough table, sand and water tray, large messy tray for sensory activities and an art table with accessible paint, glue, paper and other art resources for the children to self select.
· Quiet area - cosy cushions, books, and Teddies' gerbils.
· ICT area - includes a listening station, child cameras, PC and printer for the children to access at anytime.
· Investigation area - lots of natural resources including shells, feathers, pebbles and sponges along with weighing scales, magnifying glasses, mirrors, microscope, and magnets, for the children to use as they see fit.
· Role play area - changed weekly to include role play experiences such as home, hospital, vets, builders yard, office, school, opticians and shops.
· Construction area - the children can choose from a wide range of construction resources to develop their imagination and building skills.
· Small world table - the children can choose from a range of different small world activities to develop their imagination and social skills
